Cortona
A new identity and website gave Cortona at Forest Park an exciting, modern voice, free from luxury apartment clichés.
A new identity and website gave Cortona at Forest Park an exciting, modern voice, free from luxury apartment clichés.
Cortona’s courtyard-centric design was intended to draw residents out of their apartments and into dynamic public spaces. We carried the courtyard theme throughout the branding, highlighting Cortona’s literal, central location as well as its aspirations: to build community, and to put residents in the middle of everything St. Louis has to offer, including nightlife, recreation and entertainment. The concept is summed up by Cortona’s new tagline
– Be at the center.
Cortona’s visuals play on the building’s physical shape and capture the spirit of the tagline. The logo family uses rough, fashion-inspired patterns and vibrant colors to reflect Cortona’s energy while appealing to young professionals. Images of the building’s modern exterior and warm community spaces place the audience right in the center of the city’s best new place to live.
With the building under construction during the branding process, it was important to give future residents a sense of the look and feel of daily life at Cortona. Designs for coffee cups, shopping bags and more helped to define how the building’s visual identity would live in the world.
Like the apartment complex itself, the Cortona website was designed to serve as a hub for community. Embedded social feeds and a colorful, oversized calendar connect current and prospective residents with the best of St. Louis: happy hours, parties, film festivals, restaurants and more. The Cortona blog will offer recipes, advice for entertaining guests, design tips, fitness trends and the scoop on nearby neighborhoods.
The branding, identity and website design for Cortona has been honored by the W3 Awards, American Advertising Awards, Targeted Advertising and Marketing (TAM) Awards, and the St. Louis Apartment Association Awards.
