Mark Your Calendar: Atomicdust + St. Louis Design Week Events
It’s our favorite time of year.
The cooler weather means we can open up the office garage door and enjoy a good breeze. And our team loves to celebrate the season with our annual Fall Day and Halloween Chili Cook-Off events. But that’s not all.
The best part of October is St. Louis Design Week.
Every fall, St. Louis Design Week celebrates the area’s local design community through lectures, panels, tours, workshops, networking happy hours and more. This year, the week will run October 8-15, with events happening every day throughout St. Louis.
The Atomicdust team will be hosting and participating in three St. Louis Design Week events this year, including a talk with advice for designers, an agency tour and panel discussion. Keep scrolling to get the details for each.
Advice to Designers That No One Asked For
Wednesday, October 12 at 8:30 a.m.
Work & Leisure
3015 Locust St.
Since founding Atomicdust more than two decades ago, Partner/Creative Director Mike Spakowski has learned a lot about design, business and the business of design. Eventually, he started writing the lessons down.
In his talk, “Advice to Designers That No One Asked For,” Mike will share dozens of quick, memorable and high-impact tips for everything from honing your skills to landing a job. But the advice is just as valuable for designers as it is for creatives of all career paths and mediums, including copywriters, developers, illustrators and more.

Located in south St. Louis City, Cherokee Street is one of the area’s most diverse, densely populated and creative neighborhoods. With its unique mix of small businesses, renowned festivals and events, noteworthy street art and Mexican eateries, the community attracts people of all backgrounds. In this session, St. Louis creatives will share how they’ve incorporated Cherokee Street’s one-of-a-kind character in various branding, design and other creative projects. Blaise Hart-Schmidt, Atomicdust’s Senior Marketing Manager, will share how Atomicdust developed a marketing strategy that is helping the community grow while still staying true to its diverse and complex roots.
These are just a handful of the numerous events happening as part of this year’s St. Louis Design Week festivities. Check out the full calendar to see everything going on.
We’re big believers in the importance of a strong creative community and know firsthand just how talented the St. Louis creative scene is. We’re excited to connect with other creatives this St. Louis Design Week and do our part to help the community—and region—thrive.
We’d love to see you at one (or all!) of Atomicdust’s St. Louis Design Week events, plus the numerous other panels, tours and workshops happening around town. If you see us, make sure to say hi.
