Atomicdust Scores Gold and Platinum in the Annual Hermes Creative Awards Competition
We look forward to the Hermes Creative Awards competition every year. It gives us a chance to test our creative chops against some of the brightest minds in the industry.
This year, we were particularly proud to submit our work. Because this was the year we all upended our lives to cope with a global pandemic.
In 2020, we learned exactly what it takes to bring our creative energies together remotely—via Zoom calls and Slack messages.
We had to figure out how to communicate from afar. We had to make space for online collaboration in dining rooms and basements, while keeping the kids occupied, the pets out of the camera frame and our mute button off.
It felt awkward at first, but we got the hang of it. And while we had to adjust to a new way of working together, our creativity didn’t waver.
And it paid off. We’re proud to report that all six of the projects we entered into the Hermes Creative Awards this year won an award. That puts us in pretty great company with some of the designers we admire most.
Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), the Hermes Creative Awards evaluates the best work in both print and digital media. It’s one of the oldest and largest creative competitions out there. The judges, all industry professionals, review about 6,000 entries from around the world each year, on the lookout for work that serves as a benchmark for the industry.
Take a look at our winning projects:
We took home a platinum award in the Marketing Materials category for our SumnerOne Production Print Brochure, a project that helped us broaden the reach of one of our B2B clients.
We opted for a clean, simplified Alltru web design and won a gold award in the Website Redesign category.
We helped Keisha Mabry shine with a fresh color palette and clear brand messaging. The social graphics we designed for Keisha won gold in the Instagram category.
In addition to foundational branding and web design, we also help clients build their brands through ongoing digital marketing. Each month, we work with the experts at Flat World Global Solutions to create thought leadership blog posts that provide value to their audiences and support SEO—and the company’s blog earned a gold in the Overall Blog category.
In an attempt to bring a little happiness into the mess that was 2020, we designed a holiday microsite for McCarthy Building Companies. The project helped McCarthy spread gratitude, and it earned a gold in the Microsite category, too.
We were thrilled with the way last year’s client gifts turned out. Tongue-in-cheek in black and white, they helped us bring some humor to an admittedly less-bright holiday season—and won us another gold award.
We’re so lucky to have clients that trust us to help solve their challenges, as well as competitions like the Hermes Creative Awards that recognize the outstanding work in our industry. Congratulations to our winning clients and all of this year’s honorees. We can’t wait to see the innovative designs that will be featured next year.
