We’re One of St. Louis’ Best Places To Work
Atomicdust has been named one of St. Louis’ Best Places To Work by the St. Louis Business Journal.
Over the last few years, we’ve won a lot of awards for our work, but this is the first time we’ve been honored specifically for our company culture.
And while we don’t necessarily need the Business Journal to tell us it’s great to work here, the validation is nice.
We know there are a lot of great places to work in this city – in fact, more than 200 companies contended for the Best Places to Work stamp of approval. Many of the winners are clients (way to go, Anders and Daugherty!), friends and heck, local competitors. Because of this, we know what an honor it is to be included among the winners.
Companies were judged based on employee engagement, cooperation, teamwork and benefits, among other things. The survey results are private, so we’ll never know what specifically set us apart among the other competing companies, but we know we didn’t win because of ping-pong tables or in-office gyms or cappuccino machines – because we don’t have those.
While those perks are great, it feels good to know that we likely stood out because of our commitment to great work, to our clients and to each other. Sure, company field trips to places like Fast Eddie’s, a ski trip in Colorado and Halloween chili cook-offs, Thanksgiving potlucks and Valentine’s Day card exchanges probably help, too.
But more than anything, we’re a team – in and out of the office.
Everyone celebrates after great client meetings. Everyone is willing to jump in on projects that are challenging. Most Friday afternoons end with growlers from Schlafly or Urban Chestnut and hot cookie delivery from Insomnia.
Outside of work, you’ll find us traveling in herds to local fish fries or a coworker’s sand volleyball tournament or community theater performance. Just last weekend, we all got a mass invite to Mike Spakowski’s house for a birthday BBQ.
Also cool? That advertising and marketing was named one of the top industries to work in in St. Louis.
If you know anything about Atomicdust, you know how important the local creative community is to us. Since 2012, we’ve shared monthly calendars of local marketing, design and social media events on our blog. Last year, we led the charge for the biggest St. Louis Design Week ever (and mark your calendars for September 12-18, 2016 to see us try to top it).
We’ve hosted breakfast seminars, pop-up coffee shops and documentary film screenings at our office. We launched a website to help young creatives find internships in St. Louis. And of course, there’s our annual BBQ to benefit our neighbors at Food Outreach.
We love supporting the creative community here in St. Louis and seeing how much it’s grown in the last decade. We’re just as proud of seeing our community on the list as we are seeing our own names.
