Developing a Brand for St. Louis Fashion

Developing a Brand for St. Louis Fashion

At Atomicdust, we help companies develop a brand and the messaging to support it. We like to give all of our clients a voice, a story, something that customers can relate to.

But what if they ask for more than a voice? What if they ask for a face? What if a client wants to develop a brand for a spokesperson?

That’s exactly what CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. asked us to do for their Regional Marketing Director, Sean Phillips

Brand development for St. Louis Malls

CBL manages malls all over the country, including five in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area (Chesterfield Mall, Mid Rivers Mall, St. Clair Square, South County Center, and West County Center). They wanted to create a blog to share shopping, fashion and style news for St. Louis, they just needed a personality to write it.

Enter Sean Phillips, a 17-year veteran of the industry.

Sean was already representing the malls on weekly news segments and at events, plus he really is an expert on style (just ask him how he feels about men’s crew neck undershirts!). He just needed to build an online presence.

Brand, Website, and Blog development for St. Louis Malls

We created St. Louis in Style – a blog for him to share fashion tips, shopping advice and the latest style trends in St. Louis. And we’re integrating Facebook and Twitter so that he can easily connect with his readers.

In the end, we found that creating messaging for a person isn’t radically different from doing it for a company. Like we do with all clients, we got to know Sean, talking to those who work closely with him and getting to know him personally. We even invited him down to our office for a photo shoot. That process made it easier to create an online identity that truly reflected his friendly, fashion-conscious personality.

Check out Sean’s blog – St. Louis in Style – and be sure to catch him on Show Me St. Louis’ Holiday special, tonight at 7 p.m. on KSDK.
